In Repair
When a relationship ends, we go through all these coping mechanisms to get over the person. Through these methods of coping, we discover certain truths that we've otherwise not seen. While we're stuck in a moment with someone, we become so transfixed on that moment. We get tunnel vision. We become naive. But when we step out of a relationship, we begin to fully connect with reality again. So I wanted to photograph these ways of coping, but not have them visually be cliche, even if the paired text is. The purpose of the text is to not only tie the photographs together, but I also wanted to take the viewer to my perspective in order to allow them to see the photographs as I intended them to be seen.
